One Verb at a Time
Ir - to GO
Simple and Imperfect Past + Imperfect Subjunctive.
This interesting verb is often confusing when you study it from a grammatical point of view. This is because the verb Ir is a fundamental part of the future structure: "Ir a- To be going to" and many times the function is confused.
This fact has marked the use of this verb by linking its present simple conjugation to an idea of implied future. The good thing about this is that it does not affect the interpretation of the sentences in a bad way.
